AI Name Announcements: What Graduates Need to Know
How will my name be pronounced during the ceremony?
The AI voices are based on recordings from our professional voice artists, so the announcements are designed to sound natural, confident, and broadcast-quality, not like a generic text-to-speech system.
Are professional voice artists still involved?
Yes. Our professional voice artists remain an important part of the process. Their voices are the foundation of the AI system, and they also step in to create a new recording when a graduate isn't satisfied with the available pronunciation.
This approach allows us to provide personalized name announcements while helping our voice artists manage the large volume of names during the busy graduation season.
What if the pronunciation of my name is still incorrect?
If the pronunciation of your name isn't correct, you can ask the system to generate another version, up to three times.
After the third attempt, you'll have the option to record your own pronunciation during registration. Your recording will then be provided to one of our professional voice artists, who will create a new name announcement based on your pronunciation.
This gives you control over how your name should be pronounced while ensuring your final announcement sounds natural and ceremony-ready.
Why do I need to check my name pronunciation?
Every graduation is a significant milestone, and your name deserves to be pronounced correctly when you walk across the stage.
Tassel recognizes that your name is an important part of celebrating your academic achievement. That's why we allow you to review your name pronunciation before your ceremony.
By checking your name announcement during registration, you can make sure it reflects how you want your name to be pronounced when you receive this important recognition.
Take a moment to listen, review, and confirm your name pronunciation. It's your moment, and we want to help make sure your name is announced just right.
